I worked for HPD in the early 1990's. Great department, very professional officers and leadership. When I left to join another department HPD did not allow me to keep my badge even though they gave me the ID. I was bummed. At the time (and still today) I thought it was one of the most unique and beautiful badges in the world. I kept my empty badge case in my keepsakes box for decades, coming across it every now and then. I even wrote a letter to the police chief a few years ago (someone I had worked with back in the day now reaching the pinnacle of leadership) to request a badge even saying I'd pay for it. No answer. You'd think after decades I would have just written it off as a lost cause. You can't imagine how excited I was when I was searching the interwebs for a Honolulu Police challenge coin to come across your website and see that not only could I order the badge but have it customized with my old badge number. I thought it had to be a scam, but quickly decided to take the $150 risk. Less than a week later I was holding MY OLD BADGE in my hand! The quality, attention to detail & coloring is top notch for this unique badge. If there is anything to critique, it’s the top band “ HONOLULU “ the outter edge protrudes beyond the badge. It appears as if the band is over lapped on top of the badge rather than it being one piece. The original badge, the upper band edge is blended within the eagles borders.
