Our city produced a 9/11 remembrance day, which included an original presentation called "Spirits of 9/11," at which some of our police officers and other speakers who are living history corpsmen shared the stories of NYPD officers who gave their lives at the World Trade Center. Your excellent reproduction badges, with the addition of NYPD shoulder patches, helped add to the authenticity of the presenters' uniforms and helped personalize the stories of the officer heroes whose selflessness cost their lives while they were saving others. After our 9/11 remembrance day, we presented each of the re-enactors with their badge as both a memento but also a reminder so they would always remember the fallen officer whose story they shared.
